Edible CBD Dosage Calculator
Use the edible CBD dosage calculator to know how much CBD to start with for overall wellbeing. CBD gummies and edibles can be a great way to take CBD during the day. Gummies are easy to travel with or take for a quick afternoon dose. However, even with gummies and edibles, it is important to start low and increase slowly.
We suggest starting with 4-5 mg, however, starting lower is fine too. There is no wrong way to start CBD, but starting too high can result in headaches, increased hyperactivity, irritability, and highly emotional outburst. If these symptoms occur, reduce the dose the next day. Our calculator includes the most popular brands including CBDfx CBD gummies, Hemplucid CBD gummies, and other edibles.
NOTE: CBD is biphasic, therefore can have opposite affects at high and low doses. It is recommended to start low. If after 1-2 weeks and increased hyperactivity and/or aggression (more stimulated) is not reducing, a high dose (25-50 mg) may be necessary. *based on feedback in our FB group, Individuals with autism are known to need much higher doses.*
Bioavailability is the amount of CBD milligrams the body can absorb. Therefore, different delivery methods provide varying absorption rates. Although ingesting CBD is the least efficient, at the right dose it can be just as effective as other delivery methods.
Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate Products
Full Spectrum CBD – Full Spectrum products contain whole plant properties including all available cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes and phytonutrients. Basically as close to nature as possible.
Broad Spectrum CBD – In theory, the product has been processed to isolate and exclude the THC. However after reviewing the labs of many hemp CBD “Broad Spectrum” products, we’ve yet to find one with a robust range of cannabinoids. These products typically only include CBD and a tiny amount of CBG in a large sample amount.
CBD Isolate – highly processed product. The CBD has been isolated from all other cannabinoids. These products only include CBD with no THC or terpenes, flavonoids, phytonutrients. CBD Only.
Avoid Artificial Additives
Independent 3rd party labs are important, but when purchasing gummies and other edible products, it’s important to review the ingredient list for artificial additives like artificial dyes and flavoring. Therefore, all-natural gummies containing no artificial ingredients, tested by an independent 3rd party lab for purity and potency is the goal.
